A day at PIPS at Boytons

Each morning, children are greeted by their key worker and brought into the playroom, with breakfast offered until 9am. The day mixes play indoors and in the nursery garden with stories, nursery rhymes, craft, painting and mark making. At Boytons Farm, children also help to feed the animals and learn how to look after them.

All food is freshly cooked on the premises, with a hot lunch at midday and a hot tea in the late afternoon. After lunch, children nap according to their own routine in our coach-built prams or travel cots, and babies under a year keep to routines close to the ones they have at home.

A daily diary records each child’s activities, meals and new skills, so you always know how their day went.

Our approach

PIPS is a small nursery with a home-from-home feel. Every child is treated as an individual: we observe children carefully so we can build on their strengths and support them where they are less confident. We follow the government’s Early Years Foundation Stage.

PIPS is led by Pippa, a Norland-trained nursery nurse who also holds the NNEB and RSH qualifications. You can read more about our philosophy and meet the team.

Funding, fees and forms

PIPS at Boytons accepts Funded Early Education Entitlement. Our Funding page explains the funded hours, how terms work and our fees policy. The prospectus, the PIPS at Boytons application form and the latest inspection reports are on our Information page.
